The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) works to promote kindness and prevent cruelty to animals through inspections and campaigns. A nationwide voluntary branch structure raises funds and offers practical help in animal care. Volunteer roles include: fundraising, running shops, clinics or welfare centres, looking after animals until new homes are found, public relations and campaign co-ordinators.

Blue Cross
The Blue Cross rehomes unwanted and abandoned animals as well as providing veterinary care to pets of owners on a low income.

Save the Rhino International
Save the Rhino International (SRI) has evolved into the leading non-profit rhino organisation. The Monkey Sanctuary
The Monkey Sanctuary in Cornwall has been the home to a colony of woolly monkeys since 1964. Its original aim was to provide a stable setting in which woolly monkeys, rescued from lives of isolation in zoos or as pets, could live as naturally as possible.
Volunteers are involved in a range of roles such as helping to prepare food for the monkeys, designing and making displays and running workshops in the Activity room .

Dogs Trust (formerly National Canine Defence League)
Dogs Trust campaign on dog welfare related issues, maintain rescue centres and find new homes for unwanted dogs. Details of local rescue centres can be found on their website. Volunteer dog walkers and fundraisers are often required, and the Trust also operate a number of charity shops.
