Vcashpoint is reaching young people online with a campaign across Facebook, Youtube and Myspace encouraging 16-25 year olds in England to apply for a £2,500 grant to up their own youth volunteering project to make a real difference to their community.

Examples of such projects include running activities for children – transforming a community space – supporting victims of bullying – running workshops for young people – setting up a campaign – clearing up a beach – running music, art or sports events for disadvantaged people – organising a festival to bring different cultures or communities together… or something totally different… applicants are encouraged to be creative!

Kids’ City is an award-winning London-based play, educational and training charity which operates 13 after school clubs in South London. The project offers a range of fun, exciting activities for 4-11 yr olds from 3pm to 6pm on weekdays during term-time and from 8am-6pm on weekdays during school holidays. They offer voluntary placements for Playwork Assistants, Community Sports Leaders, Arts Leaders, Administrative Support Workers and individuals with PR and Marketing skills.

CSV's National Network challenges young people aged 16-35 to volunteer away from home for between four months and a year. All receive food, accommodation, travel and a lunch allowance. Local Action offers local volunteering opportunities for disadvantaged people. No volunteer is ever rejected.

Asthma UK

Asthma UK runs week long holidays for children with asthma. The holidays aim to teach the children, ages 6 - 17 years, more about how to manage their condition and to allow the children to take part in adventurous activities that they may not normally be allowed to do.
