Offers hands-on, non-profit conservation expeditions for everyone. Expeditions are open to all and there are no special skills or fitness required to join. There are also no age limits whatsoever. Places are available for anything from two weeks to several months and at least two-thirds of your expedition contribution will go directly into the conservation project. Projects work with local scientists and people from the host country, teams are small and support will be provided by an expedition leader from Biosphere Expeditions.

Concordia is a small not-for-profit charity whose aims are to bring people together from different countries to move towards the common goal of breaking down cultural stereotypes and promoting greater international understanding and peace.

Our International Volunteer Programme offers volunteers aged 18+ the opportunity to join international teams of volunteers working on short-term projects in over 60 countries worldwide. A selection of projects is available for teenagers aged 16 and 17. Types of international volunteer projects you can do include conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, arts, children’s play-schemes and teaching.

Projects last for 2-4 weeks with the main season from June to September. Volunteers pay a registration fee of £110 and fund their own travel. Board and accommodation is free of charge.

Cross-Cultural Solutions' Volunteer Abroad and Intern Abroad programmes offer the chance to make a real difference in people's lives while experiencing another from the inside out. By participating in a Cross-Cultural Solutions programme, you will have the opportunity to work side-by-side with local people on sustainable community initiatives, participate in additional cultural learning activities, such as language lessons, field trips and lectures, and still have time for your own personal adventures. Programmes run from 2 to 12 weeks long and there are start dates year-round. CCS also offers a one week Insight Programme for those that are short on time. Cross-Cultural Solutions was established in 1995. It is a registered charity in the UK and sends thousands of volunteers overseas every year.

Run i-Ventures which are voluntary projects that last from 4 to 24 weeks in 19 countries around the world. Projects are open to everyone aged 17 to 70. You can choose between teaching English, conservation, media, health, building and care work projects.

Tackle Africa

UK based Charity that capitalises on the popularity of football in Africa to raise awareness and understanding among young people. Tackle Africa is currently looking for enthusiastic and adventurous volunteers to participate in our upcoming project in Uganda. The 6-week tour will run from mid-April through May, 2005. Working with local partners, the project will concentrate on events in 5 different districts across the Country.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, have some football ability, be fit to travel, and willing to make a genuine contribution in the struggle against the spread of AIDS in Africa. The cost is £2,500 per person, which covers flights, meals, travel, accomodation, and visa's. Volunteer Action for Peace is the UK branch of the international peace movement Youth Action for Peace. VAP is recruiting unskilled volunteers for over 1,000 international volunteer projects in more than 70 countries worldwide. These are normally 2-3 week 'workcamps', international group projects. Some longer term projects under the EVS scheme (2-12 months). Volunteers must normally be 18 years old (min. 15) with no upper age limit. Occasional language and upper age requirements. Volunteers pay a membership and registration fee of £150 to £180 and their transport costs. Hosting fees for projects in developing countries (up to US$220 for food and accommodation). Work in social projects, arts and cultural projects, ecology, environment, children projects, construction, renovation and study projects.
