Rural Volunteer Points set to roll out across England

Having now completed pilot stages in West Kent and Dorset, Volunteering England used the occasion of the European Volunteering Assembly, to announce the England-wide release of the Volunteer Point project.

This innovative one million pound project, funded by the Home Office, aims to increase the quality and quantity of volunteering opportunities, within isolated rural communities of England, by using state of the art information and communications technology.

By using specifically designed, interactive web enabled "Points," located in diverse community venues from libraries to supermarkets, we aim to reach as many potential volunteers as possible.

We are now seeking Volunteer Centres and other voluntary and community sector partners, to tender expressions of interest in participating in the project's development.
