Measure for Measure: Assessing the impact of employer-supported volunteering

Wednesday 19 September 2007, The Mermaid Conference Centre, London

How do leading employer-supported volunteering (ESV) managers measure the impact of their policies and programmes? Find out at Volunteering England’s one-day conference where you will learn from and debate with top practitioners, network with fellow professionals and identify practical examples you can use in your own workplace.

Managers from the public, private and voluntary sectors will hear a state of the sector report by the three leading agencies measuring the impact of ESV: The Corporate Citizenship Company, Business in the Community and the Institute for Volunteering Research.

Workshops will include:

  • Deloitte sharing how they assess the impact of 2,500 staff out on community days
  • The British Red Cross discussing how they are measuring the impact of their Charity of the Year partnership with Tesco
  • How Boots are working with Home-Start to develop and measure a national volunteering programme.

Cathy McBain, head of ESV at Volunteering England, said:

“It is more essential than ever for ESV managers to be able to show the impact of their volunteering programmes and Measure for Measure provides the opportunity to learn from the best. Evaluation can be challenging, and we aim to provide delegates with all the information and advice they need to feel confident in their work.”
