Volunteer Management and Leadership

Volunteering England offers the Excellence in Volunteer Management Programme (EVM) - endorsed, modular, bespoke, coaching, consultancy and peer-to-peer learning options available - and the Management Development Programme for Volunteer Centre Managers - residential and day-course options available.

Excellence in Volunteer Management is delivered flexibly by a network of Licensed Training Providers. The Licensed Training Providers' training skills, plus their knowledge of volunteering issues, are independently assessed. Those that meet the assessment standard are licensed by Volunteering England to deliver the EVM programme.

EVM Licensed Training Providers will work with you to find the best possible solutions, including:

  • Developing your strengths and skills in managing and involving volunteers.
  • Exploring the role of volunteering within your organisation.
  • Improving your volunteering policies and practices.
  • Designing leadership and management development for managers of volunteers.
  • Providing coaching.

If your organisation has a large number of staff and/or volunteers who could benefit from participating in the Excellence in Volunteer Management programme, you may find it more economically viable to become a Licensed Training Provider and deliver the programme in-house.
