Volunteer Management Conference

Working together to improve volunteering

Event summary
This two-day event, held at the University of Warwick conference park will provide the opportunity to develop skills in managing volunteers and provide opportunities for sharing learning and networking among different groups of practitioners in the area of volunteer management. This includes workers from Further and Higher Education, Volunteer Centre managers and volunteer coordinators from volunteer-involving organisations. The conference would also be suitable for decision-makers within Volunteer Centres.

Day one:
The opening plenary entitled 'From the top down' will be presented by Susan Ellis, President of Energize, Inc, an international training, consulting, and publishing firm that specialises in volunteering. Susan will be joined by Mark Goldring CBE, Chief Executive of Mencap.

You will have the opportunity to choose from a broad range of topics for three workshops slots in the afternoon.

In the evening a drinks reception will be followed by dinner, and a disco.

Day two:
The plenary entitled 'Investing for the Future' will include Sue Palanganda, Chief Officer of Volunteer Centre – Nuneaton & Bedworth, Professor Ann Caesar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Student Experience) at the University of Warwick and Dave Conroy, National Programme Manager, Capacitybuilders. The plenary will be chaired by Mike Nussbaum, Vice President, Volunteering England.

All workshops on this day will focus on three strands: Student Volunteering, Volunteer Centres and Volunteer Managers (other than student volunteering sector and Volunteer Centres).

All workshops will be clearly listed as pertaining to beginner, intermediate or advanced levels of knowledge in the topic area.
