General Election 2010

What would you ask for?

Volunteering England is gearing up for the General Election 2010. We’ll be putting together a “Volunteering For All” manifesto supported by our members and a number of other national volunteer-involving charities. We want this manifesto to demonstrate the importance of volunteering to the individual and to society and it will aim to remove existing barriers for volunteers across England.

Preparation is key, and Volunteering England wants your input into the manifesto – it’s important that all our “key asks” are just that – things the Government can do something about. We need issues and demands that we can hold the Government to account on.

But its individual volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations that really need to shape this manifesto. So we’d like you to imagine that you had the Governments ear and that they were willing to change three things that will improve volunteering – what would these be?

  • A Legislative Change?
  • Cultural Change?
  • Funding request?

All the wishes need to have specific outcomes and changes that the Government can implement.

Please send your 3 wishes to policy@volunteeringengland.org
