International

Globalisation is a growing phenonomen for business, government and large voluntary organisations. Logically, international working in employer supported volunteering is becoming increasingly important. This can be seen in the growth of European networks such as the International Business Leaders Forum’s ENGAGE campaign.

ENGAGE is an international business-led campaign that aims to increase the quality and extent of employee engagement in the development of healthy and sustainable communities.

Run by IBLF and Business in the Community, ENGAGE helps to build business competitiveness and to meet community needs through the time, talents, energies and resources of employees.

ENGAGE Objectives

ENGAGE was launched in 2002 and since then has been working with national and international companies, NGOs and business intermediaries with experience and expertise in employee engagement to:

  • Raise the profile of employee engagement and its role within a wider corporate citizenship agenda
  • Help companies to develop employee engagement programmes wherever they operate, that meet business and community need
  • Facilitate the development of employee engagement in parts of the world where it can have the most impact
  • Build and support a network of organisations that can advise and support businesses and provide access to employee engagement opportunities

Management

ENGAGE is championed by an International Business Leadership Team and supported by an International Partners Group that provides advice and a sounding board for the campaign.

The Leadership Team comprises:

Allen & Overy
Anglo American
Cisco Systems
Citigroup
Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
GE

IBM
KPMG
Linklaters
Microsoft
Serco
Westpac

The Leadership Team is under the joint chairmanship of Mike Wareing Global Chief Executive Officer KPMG International, and Francesco Vanni d’Archirafi, CEO of Global Transaction Services (EMEA) of Citigroup.

All members of the Team have agreed to act as ambassadors for the campaign, commit their companies to deepen and broaden their employees' engagement, and work collaboratively to leverage business support for active community involvement.

The International Partners Group is a group of organisations that work with ENGAGE staff to provide feedback on developments. The group also shares experience and expertise on employee engagement.

ENGAGE provides a one-stop shop for international employee engagement and a space where companies and community organisations, NGOs, brokers and business intermediaries share knowledge, skills, resources, technology and case studies
