Investing in Volunteers
Are you an organisation that involves volunteers and would benefit from a UK award recognising your commitment to volunteering? IiV is the UK quality standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work.
The standard was launched UK wide in October 2004 and after one year has already made a big impact. The London Organising Committee for the 2012 Olympic Games aims to “become an accredited Investing in Volunteers organisation at the earliest opportunity” and the recent Russell Commission report, A National Framework for Youth Action and Engagement, “… believe it is appropriate to recommend the Investing in Volunteers Award (IIV), [as] the UK quality standard for all organisations which involve volunteers in their work.”

Investing in Volunteers for Employers
Investing in Volunteers for Employers was successfully launched in June at a one day conference for the Employers in the Community Network held at the Russell Hotel in London. It reflects the principles of the original Investing in Volunteers quality standard, but is designed to respond specifically to the needs of employers.
IiVE provides a thorough health check of an organisation’s employer supported volunteering programme, but is equally valuable as a developmental tool for companies setting up and implementing new programmes.
IiVE is aimed at employers across all sectors and sizes of organisation interested in improving their employee volunteering initiatives and in gaining accreditation for their initiative. It assures best practice in employer supported volunteering while, at the same time, providing a better environment with positive outcomes for both the volunteers and the employer.
