    The WRVS has more than 300 volunteers across Herefordshire who provide a range of services including

    . Community meals across the county
    . Eighteen afternoon clubs for elderly people, in village halls across the county
    . The Riverside Community Learning Centre
    . A Supported Day Care Centre for isolated older people, based at Riverside
    . Community car schemes across the county
    . Emergency services support the welfare needs of the community and statutory services in the event of an emergency.

    In all of these services WRVS aims to promote independence and enable people to stay in their own home for as long as possible.

    The newly refurbished centre opened in September, which offers a variety of courses such as:
    IT Courses: Beginners, Internet & Email, Digital Photography.
    Healthy Living Courses: Yoga, Holistic Health, Thai Chi, Pilates.
    Mandatory Courses:First aid, Manual Handling, Food Hygiene.
    Vocational Courses: Painting & Drawing, Art & Crafts,

    A range of learning rooms suitable for children's parties, weddings, training courses, meetings, conferences, interviews and other functions from one-to-one or up to 60 people.

    The Cafe can cater for lunchtime snacks and drinks. Buffet's can be provided for functions. A lunch club is available every day from 12:00 - 13:30 at a very reasonable price for a two course lunch and needs to be ordered by 10:30 on the day.

    WRVS works with a range of volunteers including those with severe learning difficulties who volunteer with a personal support worker and those with milder learning difficulties who volunteer in much the same way as anyone else.
