I want to volunteer in sport
You have two starting points:

- If you DO know what sport you want to volunteer in, you can contact that sport direct.
More information about Volunteer Centres.
Volunteer Centres also work with the organisations you can volunteer with; and they are linked to both do-it and Volunteering England. Volunteer Centres are also working with their local County Sports Partnerships, so there should be plenty of sport opportunities available locally. So, we’re all here at the end of the day to make your volunteering experience a better one!

What does Volunteering England do for me as a sport volunteer?
Well, at a local level...
As volunteers you can find information, training, support and even more help at their local Volunteer Centre. There are around 300 in England. If the volunteers or helpers in your sport organisation want help - point them in the direction of a Volunteer Centre!
At a national level...
Volunteering England supports all Volunteer Centres to be able to work with sport. This is pretty new work and so keep encouraging your organisation to try out working with your Volunteer Centre - we're all starting to work together in new and exciting ways so that sport is supported by happy volunteers!
Nationally too, we work with governing bodies to make sure they have all the right advice for their volunteers on the ground, and throughout their structures, and with Sport England and other national sport organisations.
We also work to support the county and local authority structures through your local County Sports Partnership.
You can see our information for all of these partners on these webpages - to give you an idea of how we support them all, in supporting you.
Sport Matters...
So, we hope you've found out a bit more about the support that goes into helping you to volunteer, and to making your sport happen. All because at the end of the day, sport matters. It matters to you and it matters to us. We're here for you, even though you might get your support from us indirectly through your governing body, sports partnership, local authority, club volunteer coordinator or Volunteer Centre!
