Sport news from Volunteering England
Sport Volunteering news 2009
The first phase of sport work funded by Sport England at Volunteering England was completed at the end of March 2009.
The main body of the work was developmental including influencing hundreds of organisations to work differently to improve sport volunteering. Therefore the legacy of the work is seen in outcomes such as an increase in Volunteer Centres working strategically with sport.
There are some practical tools and reports from the four years of work, which are outlined below:
Measuring the impact of sport volunteering
A Winning Team Tools for measuring the impact of sport volunteering
(both of these were funded by Capacitybuilders through the Volunteering Hub)
Information for national governing bodies
Volunteering for NGBs funded by Sport England Guide for volunteer managers in sport to quality standards in volunteering and strategic volunteer management.
Volunteer Centres
A guide to sport for Volunteer Centres. Final report
And there is also a final report on the work. There is already ongoing work at Volunteering England to increase our membership from the sport sector. In addition we are planning for our next phase of sport work that we hope to undertake with Sport England from 2009 – 2011.
For those sport contacts that have previously had contact with the sport work during 2005 – 2009, please see our list of teams at Volunteering England who may be able to answer your queries.
