Strategic development of Further Education volunteering

Developing the Further Education voluntary sector

Volunteering England places itself at the heart of decision and policy making in the Further Education sector to campaign and lobby for more support for student volunteering.

Since 2006 we have been working with decision makers across the country to raise the profile of student volunteering. In this section of the website you’ll find a range of resources to show you how volunteering compliments a range of existing policies in Further Education.

  • Learn about the impact volunteering can have on the implementation of Further Education policies in Further Education Colleges. Read the research we conducted on behalf of the Learning and Skills Council, ‘Assessing the impact of volunteering on the Further Education sector’
  • Read about our work to find out about how the Further Education sector would like to see volunteering develop, through the Volunteering Symposium held in July 2008.
  • We have secured funding from the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills to create some model guidance for F.E. colleges on how to safeguard vulnerable or young student volunteers. To find out more about this work or get involved contact our Volunteering Development Officer on studentvolunteering@volunteeringengland.org or call 020 7520 8927.
