The University of Wolverhampton are hosting a series of Volunteering Drop in sessions for students during SV week. The following organisations will be attending to promote their volunteering opportunities:

  • Barnardo’s
  • Beacon Centre for the Blind
  • Walsall Education Business Partnership
  • NSPCC
  • RSPB


Northampton University-Centre for Community Volunteering

The Centre for Community Volunteering are running a series of one off challenges for SV Week called Time 4 Action;

  • Heartstart First Aid Challenge with St John Ambulance
  • Volunteering Fair called Home and Away-featuring Volunteering abroad, student led projects and societies
  • Air Ambulance Challenge fundraising event
  • Woodland Management Challenge
  • Oxfam Waste Not Want Not Challenge


University of Leicester-Contact

Contact are running a week of taster sessions to promote volunteering opportunities around Leicester working with a variety of ages and areas promoting the following;

  • Age Concern
  • Young Enterprise
  • Vista Youth Offending Team
  • Choice Support
  • Riverside Rangers


Nottingham Trent Students Union-Junction 1 Day Challenges

Junction 1 Day Challenges will be running a number of events including;

  • First Aid Training
  • Tree Planting Extravaganza
  • Bingo Bonanza with the elderly
  • Registering to be a bone marrow donor
  • Painting and Decorating at St Andrews Church and Community Centre
  • Poker at Nottinghamshire Hospice
  • RSPCA-Pet a pet day
  • Sign Language training
  • Beauty morning at Nottingham Hospice
  • Canal clean
  • And volunteering towards employability training session


The Link, Solihull College

Holding two Volunteering fairs, one at each of their campuses. They are organising these with a new local partner in volunteering, SUSTAiN.
