Director of Cripplegate Foundation, a grant giving trust in Islington. The Foundation aims to address poverty, increase access to opportunities and promote social inclusion. It does this through a highly pro active grants programme as well as supporting core and project funding for voluntary organisations

Previous roles:

Kristina has worked in or with the voluntary sector for over 25 years. This is mainly through funding the sector. She has worked for local authorities, central government and other grant giving trusts.

Kristina has been an active supporter of women’s ex prisoner organisations for over 20 years and a member of management committees ranging from toy libraries to youth projects.

  • I have a particular interest in the Justice system, particularly youth offending. I have been the Officer in Charge of an Attendance Centre for 25 years. This is a court disposal for young people where we address offending behaviour. Most of those sentenced to this disposal are disaffected and challenging young people. We run a structured disciplined programme and are able to engage with them to the extent that many choose to undertake an accredited programme in their own time. Very rewarding.

Georgina Watts

Having spent a lifetime volunteering, Georgina has built a career inspired largely by her early experiences of voluntary community service, student activism and welfare advice. As Chief Executive, she led Youth Action Network for 5 years, as it became England’s leading youth volunteering charity. Georgina is passionate about volunteering but in particular in putting young people in control of their own projects. She contributed to the work of the Russell Commission in several ways including as an independent adviser and researcher.

Having given birth to her daughter Eleanor in 2005, Georgina now splits her time between motherhood, volunteering and her newly formed consultancy.
