    Set up to facilitate and support effective peer-to-peer networking of those involved in volunteer management locally, regionally and nationally across England
  • TimeBank
    This BBC supported campaign gives you the opportunity to share your time and skills with your community. The site allows you to register your details in order to receive a list of organisations in your area that need help, and which match your interests.

    Large scale provider of volunteering opportunities in the UK. CSV also supports training and education initiatives.

  • Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme (RSVP)
    Promotes volunteering by older people and matches individuals with local voluntary opportunities. It operates across Great Britain with more than 5,000 volunteers and aims to involve as many people as possible over the age of fifty.

  • The Media Trust
    The Media Trust is a charity which works in partnership with the media industry to meet the communications needs of the voluntary sector. One of the services the Media Trust offers is The Media Resource which identifies the skills of media professionals and matches these with the communications needs of voluntary organisations.
  • Vol Resource
    Information resource for voluntary sector organisations (small and large). Includes information on the legal and financial aspects of running a voluntary organisation, suppliers of services to the voluntary sector and a paid and volunteer jobs section.
  • Sandy Adirondack
    Freelance management and training consultant for the voluntary sector, includes a page of up-to-date legal information for voluntary organisations.
  • EQUIP - Electronic Quality Information for the Public - an NHS website which signposts members of the public to useful health and social care websites that have been quality-checked and has a directory of over 4200 support groups and services both national and local to the West Midlands and checked regularly.

  • Virtual Volunteering Project
    US based site that allows you to contribute your skills without leaving your home or office. Contains extensive information and advice on virtual volunteering as well as links to agencies that provide on-line volunteering opportunities. A must see site for anyone considering virtual volunteering or for organisations who would like to recruit on-line volunteers.

  • Queen's Award for Voluntary Service
    The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK for outstanding work done in their local communities.
  • The Young Achievers Awards
    The YAA recognise volunteers in arts, community, environment and sport.
  • The League of Mercy
    The League invites voluntary organisations to nominate individuals who have given seven or more years of 'outstanding service'.
  • The Beacon Fellowship
    Award six annual Prizes to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to charitable causes or to organisations that benefit the public.
