Policy and campaigns
We promote volunteering as a powerful force for change, both for those who volunteer and for the wider community. In increasing the quality, quantity, contribution and accessibility of volunteering in England we will campaign to remove barriers and ensure that volunteering is kept high on the policy agenda.
The issues we focus on are determined in a number of ways: government policy, evidence gathered by the Institute for Volunteering Research and others, and our own knowledge and experience.
However, most importantly, we gather information and ideas from our members who are working on the ground to support and encourage volunteering. They know better than anyone what is working and what needs to be changed.
If you are a member, you can help us to plan our work by telling us about the issues you're currently facing. We'll take up the most popular ideas and work with you to lobby government, remove red tape, build partnerships - whatever it takes to encourage and support more and better volunteering.
