Policy and campaigns
We promote volunteering as a powerful force for change, both for those who volunteer and for the wider community. In increasing the quality, quantity, contribution and accessibility of volunteering in England we will campaign to remove barriers and ensure that volunteering is kept high on the policy agenda.
Find out about NCVO research on volunteering and what it tells us.
The issues we focus on are determined in a number of ways: government policy, evidence gathered by the Institute for Volunteering Research and as part of the UK Civil Society Almanac and our own knowledge and experience.
However, most importantly, we gather information and ideas from our members who are working on the ground to support and encourage volunteering. They know better than anyone what is working and what needs to be changed
Volunteers Week is an annual event which takes place on 1-7 June. It celebrates the contribution made by millions of volunteers across the UK.
