England Volunteering Development Council
The England Volunteering Development Council (EVDC) is an independent representative and advocacy mechanism for volunteering. It is made up of nine regional councils, one in each English region and one national council.
Members
Members are drawn from volunteer involving organisations acrss the public, private and voluntary sectors. The councils therefore capture a wide range of intelligence and views in order to steer government policy and community action.
How it works
Key volunteering issues are identified at national and regional levels. Consultation then takes place and responses are formed. These responses are then communicated across the country in order to influence policy and create a favourable environment for volunteering.

The role of Volunteering England
Volunteering England provides secretariat to the national council and funds the chairs and secretariats of the regional EVDCs.
